UNILORIN Announces Resumption Date

UNILORIN announces resumption Date for classes in the state.

Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) fixes academic activities for the 2020/2021 Session to commence on September 30.

Prof. Esther Omosewo, Director of JUPEB, announced that the session would run till June 2021.

The official said successful candidates can apply for admission through Direct Entry.

Omosewo advised prospective applicants to visit the www.unilorin.edu.ng for details on admission requirements.

JUPEB is a national examination body approved by the federal government.

The Board conducts common and standard examinations for candidates exposed to a minimum of one-year approved learning in Universities and are seeking Direct Entry admissions into the University courses.

Akwa Ibom announces resumption Date

Akwa Ibom State announces September 21, 2020, for the commencement academic activities in the state-owned institutions of higher learning including its University, College of Education, and public Primary Schools.

Similarly,28th September 2020 has been fixed for the resumption of full academic activities in secondary schools.

When is AkwaIbom state University (AKSU) Resuming?

The State University will commence processes for the resumption of academic activities on the 21st of September, 2020.

The state-owned polytechnic will resume for full academic activities on the 5th of October.

Resumption date for primary schools in Akwaibom

Primary schools are to commence processes for the resumption of schools for primary six pupils only, on 21st September,2020, to prepare them for the common entrance (exit examinations).

Additionally, the State Government will make face masks available to all primary six pupils only at resumption.

Public Secondary School Resumption Date in Akwaibom

Public Secondary Schools to reopen on the 28th of September,2020.

Private secondary schools are to commence their processes for resumption on 21st September,2020, as far as they comply with the COVID-19 protocol and review same with parents.

The Akwa Ibom State University will commence the processes of resumption on 21st September, 2020.

College of Education, Afaha Nsit, is to reopening processes on 21st September,2020.

Akwa Ibom state Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua will resume on October 5, 2020.

Council directs the Commissioner for Environment and Petroleum Resources to ensure the immediate commencement of work on IBB Avenue.

The statment reads:

“Primary schools are to commence processes for the resumption of pupils in the exiting class on the 21st of September, 2020.

“This is to enable them to prepare for the Common Entrance Examination.

Public secondary schools are to reopen on the 28th of September while private schools are to commence processes for their resumption on the 21st of September.

“All private schools must ensure full compliance with the government-set COVID-19 protocols and review the same with parents.

“The State University will commence processes for the resumption of academic activities on the 21st of September, 2020, while the state-owned polytechnic will resume for full academic activities on the 5th of October

“The State College of Education in Afaha Nsit will commence preparations for resumption on the 21st of September”.

Enugu state announces resumption date for all primary and secondary schools

The Enugu State Government fixes Monday  28th September 2020 as resumption date for primary and secondary schools in the state for 3rd term session.

According to the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Uche Eze, the decision was reached “following the Enugu State Education sector stakeholders’ consensus and gracious approval of His Excellency the Governor”.

He states that necessary measures have been put in place in our schools for safe re-opening.

Teachers/students/pupils are therefore urged to ensure that they abide by the approved guidelines on COVID-19.

The commissioner stated that monitoring teams at state are to monitor compliance with the approved guidelines for the safety of all

Primary six and Junior Secondary three students who have completed their examinations are not expected to be back to school.

Gombe Announces October 5 As Resumption Date

Gombe State Government announces October 4, 2020 as resumption date for boarding schools.

October 5, is for day primary and secondary schools resumption in the state

The state Commissioner for Education, Dr. Habu Dahiru, who disclosed this while speaking with newsmen on in Gombe on term from October 25.

He says, “By this announcement therefore, all schools are to open as follows; October 4 for boarding schools, October 5 for day schools, including primary, Islamiya and Tsangaya.

“Third term will start on the 4th for boarding students and 5th for day students and end October 23, 2020 (three weeks), first term will commence on 25th of October and end on 18th December, 2020 (eight weeks).

“However, second term will resume on January 10, 2021 and end April 16, 2021 (14 weeks).

“Third term will begin from 2nd of May 2021 to August 6, 2021 (14 weeks).”
